One of the most common questions we get asked is whether permanent jewellery tarnishes over time. The short answer? With the quality materials we use — absolutely not. However we cannot speak for other studios  offering quality jewellery is priority to us. You are wearing it all day every day and need it to stay beautiful. No one wants a green or copper coloured wrist.

Our quality stainless steel permanent jewellery is fully waterproof and will never tarnish. It's hypoallergenic, making it perfect for even the most sensitive skin. Wear it in the shower, the sea, or the gym — it won't let you down.

14ct Gold Filled

Our 14ct gold filled pieces are luxuriously finished with thick, solid gold layers, giving you the look and feel of solid gold at a fraction of the price. Fully waterproof and non-tarnish, these pieces are not plated and will last many, many years when cared for properly. Zero turning green or rusting. As a gold girl I was fed up of everything I bought tarnishing on me and I live in fake tan so needed something that would stay beautiful no matter what I was doing.

Real 925 Sterling Silver

We use genuine 925 sterling silver — fully waterproof and luxurious. Silver can develop silver sulphides when left out in the open air, but here's the brilliant thing about permanent jewellery: because it stays on, your daily shower actually keeps the silver sparkling naturally.

Silver doesn't love harsh chemicals, so we'd recommend avoiding hot tubs and cleaning products where possible, as these can cause the silver to dull temporarily. But don't worry, silver never truly tarnishes and can always be restored. If you do find a hot tub chemical has affected your silver — it will clean right back up to its original sparkle. You do not even have to polish it, leave the silver to naturally clean itself with your daily showering and within a few weeks it will return sparkling like new. For those who have home hot tubs we recommend stainless steel which is not affected by chemical reactions  

What about 9ct Solid Gold?

We do not stock solid 9ct gold purely because it is unaffordable to most people. Our business is based on affordable quality jewellery.  Solid gold is one of the most expensive materials in the world and currently a whopping £3600 per ounce which makes a quality thick gold chain completely unaffordable to the majority of our clients. The chains available in 9ct gold are very limited and ultra fine which we believe are too thin for longevity wearing daily. We would not want to stock something we feel would not last long term. There is also not enough choice of chains or charms available in the Uk in solid gold to make the jewellery truly personalised. We can of course source 9ct solid gold for you if you would like this option however as gold filled chains contain such a high amount of solid gold within them and are as durable as solid gold when looked after, we feel the thinness of solid gold chains available is not worth spending many hundreds of pounds on.
